The Bačova česki kapela (Baca Band) was formed just outside of Fayetteville Texas in the late 1800s. It was shepherded by Frank J. Baca Sr. and was composed of thirteen Baca siblings. Their musical skills were exemplary.

Justin Everett was a special person, who saw the world through a wonderful lens, escaped from his earthly chains December 8, 2021 following a prolonged illness. Justin was born into a family that embodies Texas music, polka music in particular. His grandfather, Anton Vrazel, was a founding member of the celebrated Vrazel Brothers Polka Band. Growing up surrounded by the sights and sounds of some of the best musicians in Texas, Justin absorbed the rhythms of his Czech heritage and shared them with others as an occasional percussionist at festivals and dances.
Plans for the second annual Texas Blacksmith Conference & the Hume L. Baker Texas Antique Gas Engine Reunion have been finalized. The events will be held January 28-29, 2022 at the Texas Czech Heritage & Cultural Center’s Czech Village grounds in La Grange, beginning at noon on Friday and 9 a.m. on Saturday. Last year’s event was huge and we hope to make this year’s event even better!.
