POLISH HISTORY COMES ALIVE FOR CANADIANS

Leaving behind the cooler weather in Calgary, Canada, the Mazovia Polish Song and Dance Association traveled some 2,000 miles to Texas where they performed at the Texas Folklife Festival June 7-9 in San Antonio. Expecting to find Texas a bit of a flat, wild desert, they were pleased to see that it was much greener and more beautiful than they imagined.

While in Texas, they made a special point of visiting Panna Maria, the first permanent Polish settlement in the United States, located about 60 miles southeast of San Antonio.
