HOLY CROSS, EAST BERNARD

Holy Cross Parish Bazaar will be held Sun., Oct. 13 at Riverside Hall, one of the great Texas halls for dancing! And the music will be great, too. Dujka Brothers get the party started at noon, then Red Ravens take the stage at 3 p.m. And don’t forget all the usual trappings of a church picnic – barbecue dinner (with homemade dressing, yum!), Czech pastries, country store, grand auction at noon, raffle, and the kids will love the games, starting at 11 am! GUARDIAN ANGEL, WALLIS

Dig in to a great barbecue meal with beef, chicken, and sausage, plus homemade dressing at the Bazaar and Harvest Festival on Sun., Oct. 20. Live music all day with Clinto of KULP Morning Polka Show, Al Sulak/Country Sounds, Blue Note Brothers, and Destino Latino. Also enjoy performances by Wawel Polish Dance Group, with special guests Edward Winiarski and Kevin Motsinger. Enjoy the games, kiddie rides, cold beverages, and enter the HUGE drawing. STS. PETER & PAUL, BELLVILLE

The 20th Annual Oktoberfest will be held on Sun., Oct. 27 on the church grounds. Feast on barbecue beef, pork, and sausage, hamburgers, and hot dogs. The Dujka Brothers will provide the music from 11A-1P. Fun family games, live auction at 1 pm, silent auction, pony rides, petting zoo, bounce house, and the kiddie carnival will feature a clown this year. See ad, p. 11.

ST. MICHAEL, NEEDVILLE

Parishioners invite you join them in celebrating the 107th year of the church bazaar on Sun., Oct. 27, at the Columbus Club Hall. Feast on a barbecue beef, sausage, and fried chicken dinner with all the trimmings. On the international side, enjoy a la carte items such as homemade tamales, tacos, egg rolls, and fried rice. (Yum!) Texas Sound Check will provide the music from 11:30 am-3 pm. The auction begins at 1 pm, and don’t forget to go on the cake walk, buy a plant, shop the country store, and play a game. See ad, p. 19. The Brewery Comedy comes to Live Oak on Sat., Nov. 10, at 7 pm. Laughs are on tap for this nationwide tour that has already hit 900 breweries across the U.S. More than a dozen New York- and Los Angeles-based stand-ups are currently on the road, sampling the local fare, local brews, and providing the finest and funniest comedy entertainment.
