Boerne Village Band Celebrates 160 Years

Recognized as “the longest continuously playing German band outside of Germany,” the Boerne Village Band proudly presents its 160th Anniversary celebration at this year’s Summer Abendkonzertes series in downtown Boerne, Texas.

Established in 1860 by German immigrant Karl Dienger, the Boerne Village Band has prevailed throughout some of America’s greatest tragedies - at times dwindling down to handful of members who practiced and performed in dance halls and barns of Kendall County – and has continuously provided German heritage music for the Texas hill country through their 160 years.
