MUSINGS FROM THE ROAD

Greetings everyone and welcome to “Musings from the Road,” featuring some of my athoughts about polka music in Texas.

When thinking about what to write about, I started to reflect on my life and what polka means to me. I’ve been fortunate to be involved with polka music since an early age; at first learning to play the button accordion with Grandpa Herman Brossmann. One thing that I remember distinctly about those early “jam sessions” at Grandpa and Grandma’s house was the spirit and simple joy of playing these folk melodies.
