Conway Twitty: A Country Music Legend

With hits like Hello Darlin' and Slow Hand, Conway Twitty is arguably one of the greatest country singers of all time. His velvet gravely voice is just one of the many things to love about Conway.

Mr. Twitty came from humble beginnings. Born Harold Jenkins in Friars Point, Mississippi, Conway grew up poor in the country. He was introduced to country music early on in his life. At age 4, Conway received a guitar as a present, and would listen to the Grand Ole Opry, on Saturday nights. At age 12, Conway formed his own band called The Philips Country Ramblers. The band would play live on the air at the KFFA radio station in Helena, Arkansas.
