Howdy Polka Fans!

We are so excited to be part of the Texas Polka News. As publisher of The Fayette County Record, I have had many opportunities to view other publications. I enjoy reading the Texas Polka News, and so when the people at the Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center took over this publication and asked if we would like to be a part of this, I very excitedly said, “Yes.”

POLKA MUSIC VIDEO

The coronavirus pandemic punched the pause button on live music in Texas and across the world. Fortunately, a lot of polka bands are releasing videos of recent jam sessions, rehearsals and private parties. Some bands are even livestreaming concerts. Here's a listing of links to watch those videos online. We also included some live performances from just before the dances shut down. If you are a subscriber, log into the e-edition to click on the links. We also post videos on the PolkaBeat Facebook page. If you are in a polka band and want to livestream a concert but do not have the means to do so, contact Mark Hermes at the Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center in La Grange. TCHCC has the ability to livestream concerts from their amphitheater in La Grange. You can reach Mark Hermes at info@czechtexas.org. If you have a suggestion for videos you think we should include in this listing, send links to andy@texaspolkanews.com. Compiled by Andy Behlen
