Po.L.K. of A. Texas
We are in May already; 2018 is flying by and 2019 is knocking at our door. Where does time go? It seems to go faster and faster. Our next parade is also around the corner which will be in Weimar for the Gedenke Festival. We always have such a great time in Weimar. Let’s hope they have great weather. Then we will be off to Ennis at the end of May for the National Polka Festival. It's just one big party and so much fun, with seeing old friends and meeting new ones. We always have a blast!
We are getting ready for our summer meeting on Sun., July 8 in Sealy at the American Legion Hall. Please join us for an afternoon of dancing and fellowship, and find out which family members of our members will receive two $500 scholarships.
Shame, shame on me for omitting Theresa Parker in my April column for being recognized in Hallettsville during the Polka & Sausage Fest. She certainly is deserving of her award. Congratulations, Theresa!
We would like to wish all the mothers a very happy, blessed, and wonderful Mother’s Day; for those moms who have a place in heaven, I am sure they will be smiling down on their families and they know that they are loved. Hope your day is a great one.
If you are ever out and about and are wondering what we are all about don’t be scared; come and join us we would love to have you. And as always, we look forward to seeing you down the road, on the dance floor or just having a great time at so many happenings around the area.
Take time to thank our military, police, EMS, and firefighters who put their lives on the line every day for us. On behalf of the Po.L.K. of A. “THANK YOU” for your service.
